Alan's father, Leonard, started Jones Landscaping & Nursery in 1964. Alan began working with his dad around five years old helping with planting, watering, and feeding various plants and trees. In 1987, the business split into two different areas: Nursery and Landscaping. Alan continued his enjoyment for landscape design and created a successful business focused on quality and customer service. His customers say he's very talented, conscientious, hard working, honest, and reliable. Alan was born and raised in Advance, so he knows the community and strives to improve the area with his landscaping projects.

He married Lori in 1987, and they have two children and two grandchildren. His children are the 5th generation in their home and still continue to live and work in the area. In his off time, Alan dedicates time to the Church, volunteers with the National Park Service on the East Coast, and enjoys spending time with his family.
